5 signs you're working harder than you should be

I’ve been reflecting recently on what the difference is between someone who’s conscientious, driven and wants to do a good job.  

Vs someone who’s working harder than they should be. 

Here are my top 5 signs that you’re working harder than you should be (all shared from mine and my clients experiences):

1️⃣You’ve got no time for a wee break! Too many back to back meetings and no space in your diary even to pop to the toilet!

2️⃣You’re distracted and not present. Whether you’re with your friends or family, you know you’re not fully focused in the moment, thinking about work and the never ending to do list - or even worse, you can’t remember the last time you saw your friends!

3️⃣EVERYTHING comes through you! Ideas, decisions, approvals. You feel like everyone relies on you for everything!

4️⃣The first thing you do when you wake up is check your emails! And perhaps it’s even the last thing you do before you go to bed. We’ve all been there, and we know it’s not a habit that any of us love to do.

5️⃣When someone asks if you need any help you say “no, I’m fine thanks” (the more high pitched the word ‘fine’ the more it’s not really true! - I’m talking from experience here!) It would take way too long to stop and explain what’s needed - best just get on and do it yourself.
